The Interesting

Such a feeling to hold in your hands
A human life, quite a grain of sand
Compared to the others but what could she be
When she grows and leaves home for a life in the city.

Five seconds of revelry at a baby girl
Changes quickly to fear, awknoledging our world
Is the place not to be without safety's defense
But you can't protect her forever, or make any amends.

Hold on while you will and I'll give you a chance
To teach me of trust in this world's great expanse.
